Description: IntroductionWelcome to the second module of the Change Navigation Programme. The Programme is aimed at providing you with the competence to plan and implement change at group, team, and organizational level. In a world where change is inevitable, we want you to move from “GET IT TO GOT IT”. By this, we mean that you, like so many others, need to be equipped to deal effectively with change and its challenges. In this Module (Change Resilience) we will cover four chapters. Chapter 1 of this Module deals with change resistance and barriers, or “why me, why now”. Chapter 2 deals with Emotional and Social intelligence. With respect to Social and Emotional Intelligence we first discuss the rationale, thus why these factors are so important for resilience in transformation and change. In Chapter 3 we focus on relationships specifically. Here we highlight the requirements for the creation of the correct psychological climate for sound relationships, how to respond to positive as well as negative news or situations (from a communication perspective). We conclude the Module (Chapter 4) with an overview of the abilities to move beyond mere coping with the challenges and uncertainties of change. In terms of this we discuss aspects related to structuring your life and work environment to become resilient and even flourish in the face of challenges. At the end of each chapter, you will have to complete a formative assessment questionnaire to track your learning progress. Learning OutcomesAt the end of this module, you will be able to:§ Identify the sources of change resistance in your organization,§ Identify potential barriers to effective change,§ Define a case for change and communicate this to the people who are affected,§ Craft communication messages to help people to navigate the emotional journey of change,§ Apply practices to develop your self
