Description: An alternative narrative for an approach to therapeutics, which is not technique led. It approaches the body as a Biome - in order to make a fully constitutional diagnosis. The thrust of treatment is then directed at factors obstructing the health of the patient rather than just the symptoms that often present in the modern clinical setting. We will consider the fullest context of the presenting problems including, psychological, physiological and bio-mechanical fields. An overview of my approach to understanding how spinal arch mechanics must be considered as a whole, rather than just sentimentally is included, along with dynamic arch models used to demonstrate why this works. This is illustrated with real case histories of eczema, low back pain, ulcerative colitis, fertility, liver and bowel complications. Howard has been a registered osteopath for 23 years in the UK and practices a traditional clinical approach that has been modernised to take account of the current modern clinical setting. The older writings on the constitutional approach did not have to take account of the current 'palliative climate'. This means we need newer strategies to approach the newer cohorts of chronically ill patients who have suppressed their own health recovery for years. Here Howard introduces his own method for getting to the root of the causes and imparts an exciting, accessible way to help patients restore their health and show osteopaths and other therapists how to think about the patient's problem and solutions - constitutionally.
